Arrived back last night from Greece, had a lovely holiday and another two flights under my belt. I had a brilliant flight going. I told the check in staff how nervous I was which is something I've never done before but will certainly do in the future because they were great. They sat us on row 3 really near the cabin crew which was great and they had obviously let the cabin crew know as they were brilliant with me from the moment I boarded. One crew member came and spoke with me before we took off and asked me if I wanted to ask any questions etc, they brought me a pillow and a blanket and were reassuring me throughout the flight.
What really made me think was the fact that for two whole days prior to the flight I had not been able to eat anything whatsoever! Yet there I was on the flight 35000 feet in the air managing to eat for the first time in days! That made me realise just how much worse the anticipation is than the reality!
Coming back, I didn't do quite as well. This always seems to be the pattern with me and I don't know why. We were sat at the back of the plane and it seemed noisier and there was a lot of turbulence. I got very upset and cried a lot but didn't panic as such, more of a quiet weep (lol). Again, the cabin crew were brill and very reassuring. Initially I was quite angry with myself for not coping so well coming back. This was my tenth flight and I don't understand how I can do so well sometimes and go to pieces on others, but I've decided not to beat myself up about yesterday and just be pleased with myself for going through with it!

You should give yourself a big pat on the back well done! i have flown to Spain and Malta( 2 times) in the last 10 yrs and it was a bad flight 4 yrs ago that put me off flying. Two year ago i flew but was very nervous and when i arrived i started thinking about the flight going back and i had not even started my holiday. It was this website and Keiths book that gave me confidence to fly again just keep reading this forum and if you read Keiths book it will help you.

You should be delighted that you were able to eat something on the fight after not eating for 2 days you are getting there now
