I took part in a 121 Fear of Flying course with Keith a few years ago now (possibly four years) and it was a huge success for me. I'm still not a confident passenger, but I no longer dread going on holiday, which is always nice!
However, next month I have to go away to France on a business trip for a few days. We are flying from Southampton to La Rochelle with Flybe and I have discovered that the plane is smaller than ones I have previously travelled in and has propellers. As my fear is turbulence I am now quite honestly panicking about the whole thing. My understanding is that turbulence is more common and more exaggerated in smaller planes...I'm feeling sick and having sleepless nights already.
Anyone had any experience of these planes or this flight? How do they differ? My colleagues are predominantly male and think it's hilarious to wind me up about the flight. I'm not feeling the humour on this one!!
Have flown a couple of times in a smaller plane. Heathrow to Manchester. We didn't find that turbulence was any worse.
Don't listen to your colleagues.
Turbulence is uncomfortable, it's perfectly safe
Thank you Amanda, I've messaged Keith and he's said the same thing. Still feeling very nervous and anxious about the whole thing, but dealing with it better than I was.
