well i flew. full stop!!!. but................. on the way there it got really scary. the pilot announced engine failure and we had to return back to southampton. i was totally scared but had to cope cause my kids where in the plane with me. We even made light of all the blue lights of the emergency services that greated us upon landing. And then...... to my saviour we were wisked into another plane and took of again and landed safely.  It was my saviour cause if they had given me time to think i would have bottled. And today, 4 days after, i flew back. I was well scared but no way near as usual. for some reason my nightmare and the fact we were still all safe made me think. they de-iced the plane on take off and had to take down the wheels twice and put them back up after take off (Keith??) i managed to trust the people  who are trained to know. am here to smile and have to fly again in 4 months. and the most amazing thing is that my kids were totally calm when all this happened cause i was calm and trusted that the pilot knew what he or she was doing. thank u keith

yes that is how i feel. thank you keith with the bottom of my heart
Oh my goodness how scary that must have been for you. I don't know how I would have coped, I freaked out on the way back from the Caribbean last week when the engine made a funny noise not long after taking off. I think you did very well not to panic for the sake of your kids, I don't think I would have been able to handle it so well done.
I think I did all the worrying beforehand. But strangely I now think that even if something unexspected happens, things turn out ok. Just maybe this was a healing experience. On the second flight out and on the way back I just thought that this surely cannot happen again and this thought kept me calm. weird!
