I am so pleased with myself.Having claimed the fear of flying, i can now claim the victory over the fear and say well done to myself.

When I arrived at the departure lounge Cafe, one of the other participants, Jo (there were 4 of us) asked me where i had come from i was so scared that i couldnt remember where i lived!!!

One of the big probs for me is the feeling of being shut of being trapped,i am very claustraphobic and over the years i have built up the fear…

I last flew about 30 years ago....and have over the years built my fear up and now it has become a phobia. My main problem is the claustrophopia and the fear of the fear!!!

I have now been getting into a lift and dont like it but can manage it by distracting myself and claiming the fear. Everytime i get a wave of panic i twang an elastic band round my wrist!

I have booked to go on one of Captain Keiths couses, and am due to go on it on the 21 august, am nervous…

Hi Ana

Yep I am back and had an amazing holiday. I was hoping to be a little better on the flights than I was, but I did it and I'm proud of that. I've posted an account of my experience on the Countdown forum.

How did the course go? Would be really keen to find out what you thought of it.

Hey Ana! Thanks for the support.

I fully intend to go on one of Keith's courses quite soon. Just can't get my head round the fact that there are people who don't view me as an idiot. The more I flew the worse I got until I just wouldn't put myself in the situation. Unfortunately as I said it has led to my son missing out on his grandparents. Fortunately though I have not transferred my fears to him!!! and he is a happy flyer. Keith is right it has taken years to get into this state and it will take time to correct. I've taken the first step and am delighted he has so much success. I am so pleased for you that you found the course helpful!

Hi Ana, sorry to rush off I was feeling guilty about keeping Terry waiting for me for so long. It was lovely to meet you today, you did so well getting on the plane. I did find the day useful, I think I will be able to book a flight and give the techniques Keith taugh us a go. Thats a huge step forward for me so Im very grateful to him and to you and the others there today for listerning and supporting me.

Hi and thanks for joining us on this the internet’s biggest and most successful social network for fearful flyers.
Please don’t hesitate to ask me anything you need to know about. I will always give you honest answers, and I hope that I will be able to explain the complexities of flying in a way that is accurate, helpful and interesting to you.
Please post your stories, videos and pictures to encourage others to share your successes and to encourage them when they need support.
We’ve got a lot of help and information on our website ( and our shop has all the help you’re ever likely to need (Book, CD, DVD, Guide, Audio Courses).

May I encourage you to face your fear as soon as possible? I know that you will think that the longer you leave addressing your fear the better it will be for you. In fact the opposite is true. When you look around the site and on this forum I can promise you that you will not uncover something that will make you more nervous than you are right now. This site is written in a way to help you to overcome your fear.
We don’t do the hearty slap on the back stuff, and we don’t do the ‘Look how easy it is to fly a plane’ angle.
We’re here to help you by explaining the truth as simply and helpfully as we can.
Best wishes

Captain Keith
