just been on keith's course. brill and recomend it but realize that all the hard work is for me to do. actually felt worse afterwards but that is because i now know the fear is mine to solve - not everyone else's. have flown loads and will fly again - just like to do it without the fear of death. got a flight booked in 4 weeks with 3 of my 4 kids and as a lone parent have to do it without scaring the children. My aim is to encourage myself and the children to listen to the safety anouncement… Continue

Hi Iana...you get the official welcome too...and thanks for joining us on this the internet’s biggest and most successful social network for fearful flyers.
Please don’t hesitate to ask me anything you need to know about. I will always give you honest answers, and I hope that I will be able to explain the complexities of flying in a way that is accurate, helpful and interesting to you.
Please post your stories, videos and pictures to encourage others to share your successes and to encourage them when they need support.
We’ve got a lot of help and information on our website (anxiousflyers.com) and our shop has all the help you’re ever likely to need (Book, CD, DVD, Guide, Audio Courses).

May I encourage you to face your fear as soon as possible? I know that you will think that the longer you leave addressing your fear the better it will be for you. In fact the opposite is true. When you look around the site and on this forum I can promise you that you will not uncover something that will make you more nervous than you are right now. This site is written in a way to help you to overcome your fear.
We don’t do the hearty slap on the back stuff, and we don’t do the ‘Look how easy it is to fly a plane’ angle.
We’re here to help you by explaining the truth as simply and helpfully as we can.
Best wishes...and it would help everyone if you could add your location to the map (but only if you want to...it's your choice...it's your social network)

Hi! Have been on a plane loads of times but it gets worse each time. I always tell a stewardes that i am scared so that they can get the straight jacket ready just in case I demand to be let out mid flight. And i feel sorry for whoever happens to sit next to me (and that is normally total stangers!) cause I make them talk to me all the time - even long haul. Even been known to hold the hand of total strangers! Am a single mum and am flying to Germany for xmas with my kids. This is serious because I have to get a grip. No way want I to pass my fear on. And I do have to take responsibility for them on the plane - not like I can hide at the back this time! So here my journey begins....
