Life begins at 50+-there is the whole world out there waiting to be explored,
best wishes, Elizabeth.
I'm more than pleased for you....absolutely fantastic, who would have believed it?
I've passed your message about being a Saint to my wife...she'll be contacting you, somehow she didn't entirely agree!

What is this?????
"that horrible 'point of no return' moment when the engines get going and you career down the runway and it is too late to get off!"
Mel that's nothing we do in the cockpit! Must be your imagination. It's all very carefully worked out before take off so there's no guesswork as to whether we can get airborne or not. Please put an elastic band on your wrist and ping it every time you get one of these unhelpful thoughts please!
Keep sending those questions please.
Keith
Elizabeth.
First thing to say is congratulations! You've decided to conquer this fear and that's the very first thing in the road to success...you must choose to change things second you have to have a reason and thirdly you have to face your fear. El divo don't realise what they do for people. Dont think about the flight, live in the present and you'll find that it's easier to get to the day to travel with less anxiety. Even though you don't or won't believe it there's a limit to how much you can be fearful of. So get as well rested as you can learn some breathing exercises and be as ready and as fit as you can be. Then you'll be stronger and better able to resist the anxiety. Don't expect to be the leader of the Red Arrows next year, in fact expect to be anxious and then you'll be more likely to manage the flight.
You can send me as many questions and queries as you want. Don't hold back say what you feel and I'm sure lots of people will support you.
WELL DONE so far.
Keith
I am British but have lived in Malta for the past 28 years with my maltese husband and our four children. I was never very brave about flying, but I tolerated it when I had to which was not very often as we did not travel much when the kids were small. However, we now have two daughters married to Americans and both living in Florida; my husband is retiring soon, and living on a small island, we would like to travel more.
Reading other posts has made me realise that it isn't only me who has these feelings of panic and I really want to get control of it. I have ordered Keith's book and anxiously await its arrival. However, I don't think it will be here by Saturday and I have recklessly booked a flight to Edinburgh as I have tickets to see Il Divo in Glasgow on Monday! So I am already panicking and can't sleep etc. We also have two more trips booked for later in the year and I so want to conquer this as it ruins the holiday for the rest of the family. My husband does not understand at all - he used to be cabin crew with BEA and just thinks I make a fuss to get attention. Nothing could be further from the truth!Anyway, I have rambled on a bit but I thank you for this site and really hope you can help me. Thanks.x
