Well here I am visiting again looking for reassurance.... 3 years ago I joined this site and it has really helped me each time I've flown.
I'm due to fly Edinburgh to Gran Canaria on Saturday & have just read that Ryanair have cancelled 26 flights today using French airspace as have other airlines due to the strike by French air traffic controllers which is scheduled to last 6 days!
I was feeling ok & focussing on the destiantion but now I'm visualising the fear & panic I will suffer if I get to the airport & the flight is delayed or cancelled!
Thank you French airport workers! I only hope the dispute is over before Saturday.... did this not happen last year & the year before?!
We're here to help all fearful flyers by giving you support, help, encouragement and guidance.
So tell us your story, ask us how we can help.
And maybe you'll tell everyone you know about this forum because even if they haven't told you, someone you know is also anxious about flying.

Keith says 'well done' too. (On my wall, but didn't want you to miss it)
:)
Well done! Hope you had a great holiday. What were the flights like?
You sound pretty in control. I also hope you have a good flight (even though Keith says we're not supposed to hope for stuff, hehehe.)
And nice weather too! Enjoy it! The weather is foul here - grey and rainy and more like what I think of UK weather.
I guess you're on the plane now. You'll be great :)
Air France is as relevant to you now as the fact that I stubbed my toe 5 minutes ago.
Sounds like you've got all your strategies in place. Pills, gin... yeah maybe leave the gin (gin is evil, I can't drink it at all! It makes me cry.) But hypnotherapy sounds good. Just remember to breathe and relax and think logically.
And have a great holiday!
I'll be watching your flight from my computer (I'm at work at the moment and sooooooo bored.)
Take care
x
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Not for the flight, I know that'll be fine, but just that you'll be able to get through this fear. Let me know the flight number and I'll sit with flightradar on my computer and watch you (work is boring this week.)
Have you tried calling Keith for some help? Nothing to lose, right?
Try to let your panic rise now, then work on breathing through it. Get your husband to help you as much as he can. I totally believe you can do this. It's safe, and you'll see your children again (aren't they going with you?) Have a good holiday!
Hi, First may I apologise if who have waited a while for me to welcome you aboard. I have so many things to answer and to try and keep in touch with that a important job such as saying 'Welcome' unfortunately gets neglected.
Thanks for joining us on this the internet’s biggest social network for fearful flyers.

I sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo want to go abroad in the summer so I'm looking at a train from Edinburgh to Dover, ferry Dover to Calais, train Calais to Lille! Why can;t I jus get on a plane & fly for 3 hours to Majorca?! I soooooooooooooooooooooo frustrate myself ( & husband!)
I flew in October 2008 after completing Virgin Flying without Fear course but had 2 aborted landings coming into Edinburgh airport from Lanzorote & had to land in Glasgow. All my hard work was undone & I'm back at square one!
