Hey Karen, flight to Hong Kong was great. Would you believe we got a last minute upgrade to 1st Class! Very cool indeed. The flight was really good, some bumps during the night but secured that seat belt and concentrated on going to sleep! x

I did and it was only a small flight, you be fine. I think i was trapped a little bit with excitement of wanting to see how the flight was going to go since the course and maybe a little nerves, but this made me think about the flight afew days in advance more so then usual. I did the techniques and that worked and as soon as on the plane i did relax, If you can i would recomend sitting in the middle somewhere, that helped me, perfect take offs, and few turbulances but hardly felt a thing. Did go to the back at one point and it was more rocky. BUT most of all trty think positive all will be ok if you flying soon, there isnt much wind about and all is good, get on it, relax and imagine your back on the course, i know its easier said then done, but hope iam helping, you be with have company too which will be much better then my flights

Hi Karen

You have come on leaps and bounds so don't think you are going backwards. Considering how you were when you got on the plane at the start of the course and then how you were at the end, you have done remarkably well. Just take one step at a time. You know that flying is safe now, you know that there are backups for everything, you know that the plane is built to fly and you know that Keith is at the other end of the phone - just keep all of things in your mind and you will sail through or should I say fly! Please get the CD. The books are very good but when you are listening to a CD, it's like listening to any other CD, it helps you to relax because your mind is on the listening.

I always carry ginger biscuits as they help to settle the stomach if you feel nervous or a bit queasy. Give them a go. You've nothing to lose. Have some camomile tea. Good for relaxation and just keep doing your breathing exercises. YOU WILL GET THERE. Just remember what I told you, when you walk up those steps to the plane on Sunday, you will know so much more than the other passengers. Remember what Keith said, 40% are scared of flying so others on the plane will be nervous whereas you can tell yourself that you were once very nervous like them but are now in a better position to control it.

As Keith said, it's perfectly normal to feel some apprehension so there is no need to try and fight it. Just try and relax and go with the flow.

Have a wonderful holiday. Email me at any time if you think you need a bit more reassurance. It helps to talk.

I'll be looking forward to hearing from you when you get back.

Hi Karen

Really good to hear from you.

Do you know Karen, I thought you did wonderfully well on the course. The difference in you at the end of the course was amazing. Both Dave and I could see how so much more relaxed you were. In fact, I think all of us were!

I bought the CD set and I play it on the way to work each morning. Not only does it calm my fears, it also relaxes me before work! I hope you managed to buy it because it is brilliant. I'm going to download it on to my Ipod and then I can listen to it whilst at the Airport.

We both thought the course was excellent. I know that you and I have yet to go up in a plane but honestly, Karen, I think we will feel tons better than we did before the course. We now know that all the sounds, feelings and noises are all pefectly normal. In fact, you and I are at an advantage over the other passengers because we know what its all about. For you to get your score down from 10 to 4 is fantastic. Even if you are still a bit apprehensive (which Keith says is perfectly normal), you won't be anywhere near as bad as you once were.

We are flying off on the 19th August so I will let you know how I get on. I think that knowing that Keith is available to talk to at anytime, really helps. Excellent service.

Please let me know how you get on when you go on holiday. I bet you will be fine. As Keith said to us, let the Pilots do the worrying. Just say to yourself when you get on the plane, my holiday starts from now and I'm going to enjoy it. After it, you've spent a lot of money!!!!

Hi and thanks for joining us on this the internet’s biggest and most successful social network for fearful flyers.
Please don’t hesitate to ask me anything you need to know about. I will always give you honest answers, and I hope that I will be able to explain the complexities of flying in a way that is accurate, helpful and interesting to you.
Please post your stories, videos and pictures to encourage others to share your successes and to encourage them when they need support.
We’ve got a lot of help and information on our website (anxiousflyers.com) and our shop has all the help you’re ever likely to need (Book, CD, DVD, Guide, Audio Courses).

May I encourage you to face your fear as soon as possible? I know that you will think that the longer you leave addressing your fear the better it will be for you. In fact the opposite is true. When you look around the site and on this forum I can promise you that you will not uncover something that will make you more nervous than you are right now. This site is written in a way to help you to overcome your fear.
We don’t do the hearty slap on the back stuff, and we don’t do the ‘Look how easy it is to fly a plane’ angle.
We’re here to help you by explaining the truth as simply and helpfully as we can.
Best wishes

Captain Keith
