Managed it

I think I managed to fly without many issues for a change!  Haven't posted for a while and I've done a good couple of trips since the last one.  The smaller ones were always Cork to manchester(UK), since I'd be visiting family.  Those turbo prop planes are hilariously terrifying on takeoff, especially when there's an irish pilot (I jest).  Either way, I think Aer Lingus are perpetually in a rush to get out of Cork airport, the last one I think left scorching tiremarks down the runway.  Most…

Just got back from Newcastle and even though it was a 70 minute flight, the last 30 mins of it was sheer terror for me.  Looking back on that now I've had a cup of tea, it's kind of embarassing in a way as there were quiet tears from me and then a quick excuse to run to the bathroom to be ill.  Since the Japan flight I was kiiiind of hoping it would be okay since it was a short hop, but ouch I think that one set me back.

Back-

Finally back from Japan.  Coming back we flew from Narita-Tokyo to Amsterdam, then back to Cork.  The long haul one was a bit bumpy again, but the flight attendant said that it was always a bit bumpy until they got to the siberian lowlands.  There were three instances of hearing words that would normally set me off in tears- "Flight Attendants take your seats please".

First one hmm?

So I doubt there's anything new going to crop up here.   I've been doing long haul flights since I was 13 years old and never had an issue.  However over the last four years I've started developing acute anxiety ahead of and during flights.   I have the mindset though that I won't let something like that stop me from going anywhere.

It's a nice thought, shame it doesn't work out well in practise.

Just in March I flew to Australia from Ireland, which was 11 hours…
