I just wanted to let you know that I went to Florida for three weeks and got back on Thursday this week. I was very nervous about the flight but remained positive on the flight out and turbulence wasn't too bad. However it was a little shaky on the way back but I told one of the air stewardess' once I got onto the plane that I was a nervous flyer which made all the difference. I even had the First Officer speak to me whilst in flight, for around 5 mins and he showed me their weather map that they use and how they bypass areas where it could be difficult. What a difference that made! After that I didnt even have to hold or should I say clench my husbands arm when we hit areas of turbulence.
I am very proud of myself (and so is my husband) as I didnt even cry at touch down (as I always do).
I still don't like the descent but I am going to try and fly at the next opportunity.
Keith - your fear of flying course also made such a difference and I took my book with me and just kept remembering all the things you told me. A big thank you!! Anyone debating going on the course, just do it, it really helps to put everything into perspective.
