Hi all,

I only discovered this site today, and already I've found lots of the content helpful. At least the time I'm looking at it. I have particular fears - I don't mind the take off and landing so much - they're near to the ground, therefore it seems (though I know it's not the case) safer. It's the cruising that's more unnerving to me, particularly if we're over the sea. My reasons for this are that if you're over the sea, and the plane develops a problem, you DEFINITELY aren't going to make a controlled descent to an airport. Does anyone else have similar fears? and have a good answer to rationalise them? I know we should focus on the facts that it's highly unlikely that there's going to be any problem anyway, and overland I find that much easier to do, but not over sea.

Sorry if this is a load of waffle and this isn't the place to post this sort of thing (everyone else seems be saying 'Woohoo I did it' etc.)

Helping Each Other

We're here to help all fearful flyers by giving you support, help, encouragement and guidance.

So tell us your story, ask us how we can help.

And maybe you'll tell everyone you know about this forum because even if they haven't told you, someone you know is also anxious about flying.

Fear of flying? This is the internet's biggest free forum. The only on-line fear of flying course is at premium.flyingwithoutfear.com
