Hi All

I'm off to Toronto tomorrow night. Nerves have started to kick in but I am looking forward to meeting people from my Mississauga offices.

Wish me luck :-)

Florida trip - I made it there and back!

Hi All

I just wanted to let you know that I went to Florida for three weeks and got back on Thursday this week. I was very nervous about the flight but remained positive on the flight out and turbulence wasn't too bad. However it was a little shaky on the way back but I told one of the air stewardess' once I got onto the plane that I was a nervous flyer which made all the difference. I even had the First Officer speak to me whilst in flight, for around 5 mins and he showed me their… Continue

Florida - 2 days to go

Posted on July 27, 2009 at 8:18pm 1 Comment

Well since I have been on the fear of flying course back in January, I booked my flight to Florida and will embark on a journey of a lifetime on Wednesday. I have to say that I only had one wobble last week but am so positive about going on Wednesday. I have never felt so excited about a flight before which is so unlike me. I have had my last dose of acupuncture and I really am trying to keep a positive mind. So when I'm back I can tell you all about it. Thanks Keith - I keep remember you… Continue

Hello Lisa,

I really don't think about Flying now until about 30 minutes before we get to the airport. My main concern is not to lose my Passport or get there too late.

I used to have tranquilisers in my rear pocket - 'just in case' , but I even forgot to take them with me the last holiday.

I worked out the other day that over 160,000 had died on the UK roads during my 42 years driving experience. ( 4,000 per year x 42 years) I now always go my train to the airport so the dangerous bit of my holidays is eliminated.

I feel so pleased when I walk across the Tarmac now to the plane that I'm a seasoned traveller that helps others with their fears, - not trying to deal with my own worries any more.

Best wishes,

thanks Keith. I am hoping to go on my first flight next year to Orlando since my last flight in 2007. My work has now asked that I look after a new customer in Dublin and it was the Dublin flights that caused me the pain in the first place. My fear starts from the day that I book a flight (palpitations, not sleeping, anxiety/panic attacks) right up until I land in the country I am intending to visit. I did purchase the book you wrote and found that it helped a lot. However my fear is still with turbulence and taking off/landing. The fear used to include the different noises that the plane makes, but you helped to alleviate that within your book. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences with like minded people and hope to learn from their experiences too.

Kind regards
