Transatlantic flight in six weeks

I am looking for some encouragement as I prepare for a flight from Toronto to the UK. I have lurked on this website in the past year or so and have found many people's comments and positive experiences very helpful. Despite there being many tools available on this website, I still feel unable to have rational thoughts and expectations of how my flight will go. I think I'm like a lot of members of this site who found flying not too bad in the past but have had one of those…

Claustrophobic needing to fly!

Hi everyone! I am new to the site and hope that I can get comfortable with flying. I live in Southern Africa but am originally from Canada so I have to fly in order to visit friends and family. Am about to go home in July but am extremely nervous. Although I fear flying in general I think my biggest issues have to do with claustrophobia - does anyone out there have the same problems? Any tips?

Back home after Another Flight + Helicopter!

Back home after a lovely but long journey to Tresco in Scilly Isles! Flying from Dublin with Ryan Air on the outward journey I was sitting at the window over the wing. I was amazed once again how much the explanations given by Captain Keith on video and in book form help me understand what goes on during a flight and be more relaxed. Leaving in a week for a 6hr flight from NY to LA

I am flying from New York to Los Angeles at the end of next week, and for the past month and a half, I have been panicking about this flight, to the point that it is ruining all of my excitement for this trip... I can't really figure out what my exact issue is with flying, but the thought of not being in control of the plane and the "what if's" just freak me out.  I have flown at least 10 times before, but the past couple of years my fear of flying has intensified so…

Fly tomorrow Dublin to Stansted

I fly tomorrow from Dublin to Stansted with Ryan Air - my first time flying with Ryan Air (have to say some of the comments from people about Ryan Air have not been too complimentary!) my first time flying from an airport from here other than Belfast City  or Belfast International. Good to be able to come on this site and share how you are feeling. I have what is the natural anxiety for me before travelling the big difference being now I know I will travel. I have not been in Dublin Airport…

I made it!

Leading up to my flight to Thailand I was getting increasingly snappy, anxious and nervous, but I kept going over the information I had learnt from the ebook and audio course. On the way to the airport I kept pinging my elastic band so much that my wrist got sore, it worked but then the neg thoughts kept creeping back in. My Mum and her partner stayed with me until the last minute, and then I went through the gates after a cry. It was due to all the anxieties building up and knowing I would be… Continue
