RE: Croatia!

Dear Keith,

I hope you are well.

We've booked a flight to Croatia next June for a week!

We are on a air conditioned catamaran with Chris's brother and wife.

Instead of the usual nerves visiting the airline's website, we sat together and booked our seats there and back, and decided on baggage etc.... now it's booked. Apparently it's 2 hours 40 mins from Bristol. Twice the duration of Jersey. I would never have booked this if it hadn't been for you and…

Finding an answer

I was reading this blog - the thing about the spoons. I remember Keith telling us about it on the groundcourse, and Enrico going to the bathroom to try it out. And I vaguely remembered having heard of it before.

A day or so after posting the blog, Keith gave the answer to what caused it - Bernoulli's principle. Again, I thought it sounded familiar but I didn't really know…

Only 2 weeks until biggest event in my life - transatlantic flight

It's been a while since I was last time here. Was quite busy these days. So... Time is running very fast. Now I need to book some tickets and I have choise of traveling from 23 hours to 53 hours. The choice is big. I just wanted to share my fears with you about this situation. I have one possibility to fly to London, take nice sleep in hotel and next day fly to port of Spain with BA. Other possibility is to change 3 planes, no hotel minimum 23:50 hours of flight. So the first option seems to…

3 more flights completed this week

3 flights this week. Flybe flights from Luton to Isle of Man and return today. Pilots good pointing out landmarks and towns we were going over. Nice polite staff at IOM security talking normally to us as they x-rayed our luggage. Not nice and rude at Luton. (memo to myself never travel from Luton again). But the 3rd flight was in a Helicopter from Shoreham airshow last Saturday. My first helicopter ride put me off flying for 30 years so I pleased I had the opportunity to show how far I had…

Flying to South America this Friday

Captain Keith:

I have flown many times over the past couple years, and while always a bit nervous of turbulence, I normally did fine. In two days I need to fly to Chile for a meeting.  I am so nervous I am sick at my stomach.  But, I think I know why; I can't stop thinking of that Air France flight that went down in thunderstorms a couple years ago after leaving Brazil.

The past few days I have been glued to weather radar in the equatorial regions. I am flying from LA and my…
