Hi everyone, I just got back from Hong Kong last night. It was a good flight, the take off was a bit bumpy, because of weather conditions but the rest was smooth. Looking back, I would have to say the anticipation was the worst bit for me. Because 2 days prior to my HK flight, my flight from Tokyo to Hong Kong was bumpy for a while. That made me very anxious coming into the final flight home.

I avoided flying since 2006, but in the last 4 weeks, I've taken 6 flights! It's not easy, but it gets a little easier each time. I couldn't have done it without the support of this community, so thanks to everyone here.

The thing I've realised is, during those 6 years when I avoided flying, I felt the same amount of anxiety. Avoiding flying did not alleviate my anxiety, it remained the same. Avoiding flying does not help at all. And to all of you reading who has an upcoming flight, there's no better time then the present. Believe in yourself, you can do this. 

I'm still an anxious flier, but I'm going to work hard on becoming less anxious in 2013. I've not got any flights lined up in the near future, except a long haul one to UK in April. I'll be posting on that regularly I believe.

You can overcome your fear ... be patient .. and have confidence in yourself ... the flight won't be as bad as you can imagine ... that's what everyone says on this forum.

Congratulation Lyn. I hope I can get the same courage to up front my fears. As the y said, Many doctors I have seen.....It all in your mind, so if is in our mind, we can controle it. Pelase wish me luck to my trip to spanish & france. I'm from south america (Vzla) and I'm so exited to see the Mónaco Oppen, novak djocovik, Rafael Nadal, feder, etc, etc I pray God I can over come my fear. Take care, dely
