Good afternoon Keith

I used to be a member and want to thank you for all your work; over the past 3 years I achieved great success flying without fear, one or two times every month, mostly for work.

The fear has returned for some unknown reason, however, and the past two flights I've taken I found very scary. Now I am due to fly to New York from London on Saturday and the flight is a B.A. flight but it's operated by American Airlines.

I am nervous about American Airlines because I hear that their fleet is old (pilots from AA have complained about having to do a number of emergency landings in recent months due to defective equipment) and I feel that it is somehow an unreliable airline. I would feel safer traveling with BA.

I think that the aircraft is a Boeing 777, which I think is quite recent; have you ever flown such a plane? Is turbulence more likely in this season?

Many thanks

Hello again Claire, are you keeping. There's no need to be anxious about AA. The 777 is a plane which I didn't fly but many of my friends did. They thought it was a very good aircraft.

It's not unusual for fears to return, but the chances are it'll go again just as quickly. Don't see this as a setback, just accept your worries and deal with them in the way that you did previously. There is no reason that you shouldn't regain your sonfidence again...this is a setback ...but accept it asnd move onwards.

Just because the fear has re-visited you there's no reason that it's going to take over again. Be patient, confident and do the things that worked for you before.
